The following Initial Assessment procedure is conducted with each participant in an interview situation before they join the group.

We use the initial information sheet to guide us towards a preferred starting point for interviewees that may operate at the higher levels of the NRS.

A range of the assessment tasks are included to show how we assess to the NRS and have a range of tasks to ‘stretch’ the potential student.

The activities used to assess each level of these macro skills needs to relate closely to the participant being assessed. It is helpful to use materials that are readily accessed in the local community, often seen or discussed in the media and/or relating to work experiences.
