Develop learning strategies

This snapshot fits into a wider course on government. The learners were given a task booklet and it was decided they would work in groups.

Task booklet sections were:

  • words used in elections
  • our own election – choose a candidate from group
  • decide your issues
  • draw your pamphlet
  • prepare a speech
  • deliver speech
  • work out preferences for your party
  • voting / handout preferences at start of election
  • the count (preferential system)

These above tasks were done as a group – writing, reading , speaking, listening and numeracy

Gather materials and / texts

  • gathered brochures from election
  • visited State Parliament
  • local library information
